Linking a Workspace and an Item (Creating a Related Item Link)

Adding a related item link between a workspace and one (or
more) items makes it easy to associate a workspace with any supporting documentation
you might want your team members to have easy access to. To create a related
item link, go to the workspace and link to either an existing item or a
new item.
TO LINK A workspace to an ITEM:
- In the workspace from which you want to create a link, click the Gear Menu and Link to New Item or Link to Existing Item.
- Your next steps depend
on whether you are creating a link to an existing item, or to a new item:
- If you are creating
a link to an existing item, navigate to that item, open the Item Details
window, and complete the link.
- If you are creating
a link to a new item, the Relate to New Item window opens. Follow the
instructions in Creating
a Related Item Link to a New Item for more details.
Notes:
- Items that are related
to a workspace appear in the Related Items section of the Workspace Profile view. A
related item icon also displays on the Projects tab if you are using
a custom view that includes the Related Items column. For more information
on custom views, see Customizing
Application Views.
- Cross-workspace related
items are not saved in templates. Related items within the same workspace
are saved in a template.
