Exporting Workspace Dynamic Application Data

 

You can export dynamic application items in a comma separated (.csv) file which you can then open and edit in Microsoft® Excel, or import into a dynamic application in another workspace or enterprise in PPM.

Note: This topic discusses how to export data from a workspace-level dynamic application. To export data from a global dynamic application, see Exporting Custom View Data.

TO EXPORT DYNAMIC APPLICATION data Using the gear menu:

  1. Navigate to the workspace whose dynamic application data you want to export.
  2. Click the Gear Menu and Manage Applications.
    The Manage Applications page opens.
  3. Right-click the name of the dynamic application for which you want to export the data and click Export Data.
    A confirmation message displays.

    Note: If there is no Export Data link, the application is a native application (like Discussions or Documents).
  4. Click Save. The Save As dialog box appears.
  5. Specify the location in which to save the CSV file containing dynamic application data.
  6. Click Save.

The CSV file is downloaded to location you specified.

To export dynamic application data using the Workspace menu

  1. Navigate to the workspace whose dynamic application data you want to export.
  2. Click the application's name in the Workspace Menu. The application page opens.
  3. In the Workspace Menu, click Export Data to CSV or Export Data to XLSX.

The dynamic application data is automatically downloaded according to your browser settings.

to export a custom view for a dynamic application

  1. Navigate to the workspace whose dynamic application data you want to export.
  2. Click the application's name in the Workspace Menu. The application page opens.
  3. In the Workspace Menu, click on the view you want to export.
  4. In the custom view header, click the Export... button to open the Export Menu
  5. Select Export to PDF or Export to Excel.

The custom view data is automatically downloaded according to your browser settings.

Note: Using this option only exports dynamic application data visible in the custom view. If you need to export all dynamic application data, run the export from the Workspace Menu or the Gear Menu.
