The Report Viewer pane gives you the ability to include small
reports on your Home views. Together with the ability to create multiple
views, you can customize Home views to focus on specific aspects
of your job.
To include reports on your views, add one or more instances
of the Report Viewer and select a report to be displayed.
For details, see Adding
a Report to Report Viewer.
When adding reports to your dashboard, be aware of the following
points:
-
Display Performance—The
more reports you include in a Home view, the more slowly the view
will load. Each report must be opened (if output exists) or run, and the
output displayed. If you find a particular Home view is taking a significant
amount of time to display, try removing some reports (create additional
dashboards with those reports).
- Report
Display Size—Reports
are not automatically resized for the Report Viewer. A good practice is
to create dashboard versions of those reports. You can save those reports in a specific folder to make
it easy for other users to find and use the reports. Graphic reports make
it easy to quickly view and digest data in the Report Viewer.
- Report
Display Output—When you open
a Home view, any included reports are run and displayed in the
corresponding Report Viewers. You can select a different output from the View In menu at the top of the report.
