Configuring the Investment Map Display

You can set several configuration options to change the display of the Investment Map view. You can specify what data should be used for the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes, and you can specify what determines the size and color of the workspace bubbles.

To configure the Investment Map display:

  1. From the X-Axis list, select the field whose data you want to be represented in the horizontal axis of the chart.
To reverse the scale on the axis, select Reverse order or, if it is already selected, clear the box.

Options include the following field type:
  2. Currency (for example, Budget or Cost-related fields)—Axis ranges from smallest to largest for the workspaces being displayed and is split in 10 equal segments.
  3. Decimal (for example, Budget or Cost-related fields)—Axis ranges from smallest to largest for the workspaces being displayed and is split in 10 equal segments.
  4. Percentage (for example, Percent Complete)—Axis ranges from 0 to 100 and is split in 10 equal segments.
  5. Pick List (for example Priority)—Axis shows all list items and is split in increments, one for each item. Axis increments are labeled with text descriptions for the items and ordered based on list type: as defined by the field definitions (for regular lists) or by value (for weighted lists).
  6. Time Duration (for example Planned Duration, Scheduled Work)—Axis ranges from the minimum to the maximum for the workspaces being displayed and is split into 10 segments (or as close to 10 as possible, based on the intervals involved).
  1. From the Y-Axis list, select the field whose data you want to be represented in the vertical axis of the chart.

  1. From the Bubble Size list, select the field whose data you want represented by the size of the workspace bubble.
To reverse the size scale (to make a larger value result in a smaller bubble, for example), select Reverse order or, if it is already selected, clear the box.

    Options include:
  2. Currency
  3. Decimal
  4. Percentage
  5. Time Duration
  6. Weighted Pick list
  1. From the Bubble Color list, select the field whose data will determine the bubble color.

  3. Priority
  4. Custom status fields that have colors associated with them
  1. Click Apply to refresh the Investment Map view based on the options you chose.
