Query Studio Overview

Cognos Query Studio is a reporting tool designed for creating simple queries and reports.

You can use Query Studio to:

View data
View data from your enterprise in a tree hierarchy. Expand the query subjects to see query item details.
Create reports
Use your enterprise data source to create reports you can run immediately, save, and reuse. Create new reports by opening existing reports and saving it with a new name, then modify that report to give you the information you need.
Change the appearance of reports
Create charts, add titles, specify text and border styles.
Work with data
Use filters, summaries and calculations to compare and analyze data.

To use Query Studio effectively, you should be familiar with your organization's business and its data.

Query Studio is not as sophisticated as Report Studio, but creating reports in Query Studio is a way to access data you need quickly.

Note: Drag and drop functionality for Query Studio does not work in Firefox, but you can double click items to add them to a report.
