Reporting
The latest release of Cognos reporting adds the following features and functionality:
- Browser Support:
Cognos 10.2.2 now supports all modern browsers. Report authors can create and view reports using Report Studio in any of their favorite browsers including Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
Report Studio and Report Viewer will work with the following Browsers:- Internet Explorer 11.x
- Firefox ESR 38
- Chrome 41+
Note: Active Reports in MHT file format requires Internet Explorer or Firefox to execute.
- Sample Reports Folder:
This Cognos update allows us to deliver Standard and Solution Reports to customers in real time without overwriting customer reports. We will be able to update sample reports, modify styling, and define best practices in real time.
This folder will be owned by Daptiv, and can be updated with new Standard and Solution Reports. Users will not be able to modify the reports within this folder, but can use “Save as” to make copies of these reports to modify.
Note: We will no longer be supplying reports in the Daptiv PPM Sample Reports folder. However, users will still have access to this folder and any reports existing there will remain.
- Visualizations:
One of the most exciting features of the new Report Studio is the Cognos RAVE Visualization. Users now have the ability to create interactive visualizations, bringing a compelling new dimension to visual reports. Humans understand data better in a visual manner, and Cognos RAVE visualizations will allow users to transform the mundane data from spreadsheets and lists into valuable information. These new visualizations it makes it easier for users to universally understand complex concepts in easily recognizable patterns. Some of the exciting new visualizations available in 10.2.2 will be Gantt, Heatmap, Tornado, Treemap, Bubble, Packed Bubble, Radar, Chord, as well as several other types.
