Choosing a Report Layout

 

Report Studio includes several basic report layouts that include report objects, such as lists, crosstabs, maps, repeaters, and headers and footers. You can also choose to start with a blank report or open an existing report.

To Select a Report layout:

  1. In Report Studio, click File and New .
  2. Choose a report layout:
  3. To create a report from a blank layout, double-click Blank.
  4. To create a report using one of Report Studio's predefined report layouts, double-click the layout.
  5. To create a new report template that can be applied to reports created in Query Studio, double-click Report Template. For more information, see Creating Report Templates.
  6. To create a report using a previously created template, double-click Existing, locate the template or, and click Open.
    Tip:
    Click Type and Report templates to only see existing templates.
  7. To open an existing report as a template, double-click Existing, locate the report, and click Open.
    Note: You are actually opening a copy of the report, and the original report remains unchanged.
