Status Update Notes Rich Text Editor

 

The Update Status window includes a field where you can enter notes into a rich text editor. In the editor, users will be able to import the previous update notes to the new rich text editor with a button included in the formatting toolbar. Users will also be able to paste formatted text directly into the editor but any unsupported text formatting (such as superscripts, strikethrough, etc.) will be automatically stripped. The Update Notes field has 4000 character limit and includes a counter in the lower left corner that shows how many characters remain. Formatting added with the new rich text editor will be honored in every area of PPM that displays workspace status update notes, including in custom views for Global Applications.

Basic Styles

The rich text editor has controls for following style options:

To apply one of the basic styles to your text:

  1. Highlight the text you want to apply the styling to.
  2. Click on one of the styling icons to apply the style.

You can apply multiple styles to a the highlighted portion of the text. Removing applied styles follows the same procedures.

ClosedChanging Font Size

To change the font size of the text:

  1. Highlight the text you want to apply the font size to.
  2. Open the font size drop-down menu.
  3. Select one of the sizes to apply to the selected text:
    • Normal - 12 pixels
    • Heading 1 - 36 pixels
    • Heading 2 - 24 pixels
    • Heading 3 - 18 pixels

Hyperlinks

The Status Update Notes field supports hyperlinks embedded in the text.

To add a hyperlink:

  1. Highlight the text you want to act as the link.
  2. Click the hyperlink icon.
  3. Enter a valid URL in the Destination URL Field.
  4. Click Save.
ClosedRemoving a Hyperlink

To remove a hyperlink:

  1. Highlight the linked text in the editor.
  2. Click the hyperlink icon.
  3. Click Remove link and close.

 

Importing Previous Update Notes

You can import the previous update notes directly into the rich text editor.

To import the previous update notes:

  1. Check that the text field is empty. The previous update notes cannot be imported unless the field is blank.
  2. Click the Import icon in the rich text editor toolbar.
