A request type is a template from which Requests with predefined settings
can be created. The administrator
defines a Request type.
Once the Request type is defined,
other enterprise users can create Requests based on that particular
type.
To create a Request type:
- On the Administration Home
page, under Workspace Types, click Create
Request Type.
The Create Request Type screen displays.
- Type the name of the new
request type in the Request Type
Name text box.
- From the Workspace
Type list, choose the type of workspace the new request type will
be for.
Note: The workspace type you select affects the fields you can
include on the Request form.
Important:
If you select a workspace Type that is using a Custom Display Name, this
request type will also use the Custom Display Name. For more information, see About Auto Workspace Naming.
- Type a brief Description
of the request type.
- In the Request
Form Fields area:
- Select Visible
for the fields you want to appear on the Request form.
- Select Required
for the fields that a user must enter when creating a request.
Required fields are automatically made visible.
Note: The fields you can choose from depend on which workspace
type you selected in the Workspace Type
list.
- If you want to define an
approval policy for the request type, select Define
Approval Policy.
New fields and check boxes appear. For details about creating an approval
policy, see Creating
a Request Approval Policy.
- Click Save
to create the request type.
