Native Field Editor - Visibility

The Native Field editor gives you the ability to specify the workspace types in which a field will be visible or hidden. When a profile or status field is edited so it does not appear in a specific workspace type, the field is hidden in specific places in the PPM user interface, but the contents of the field are retained, and the field is visible in custom views and reporting.

To Specify visibility:

  1. In the Workspace Fields List, click the Actions icon next to the field for which you want to configure visibility and click Edit Field. The Native Field editor opens.
  2. Select or clear workspace types based on if the field should be shown in the workspace profile or status:
  3. Selected—For workspaces of a selected workspace type, the field will display in the workspace profile or status pane and status history in the workspace and in the popup profile and status opened from the Executive tab.
  4. Cleared—For workspaces of a workspace type that is not selected, the field will not display in the workspace profile or status pane and status history in the workspace and in the popup profile and status opened from the Executive tab.

    Note: Hidden fields are still visible in other areas of PPM including custom views, reporting and the workspace Profile or Details popup. On the Update Status window, Health and State always display, even if hidden.
