A convenient way to create a dynamic application is to import an XML file containing the schema defining an existing dynamic application.
Note: The XML schema is created when you export an existing dynamic application. These files can be imported, enabling you to create
the same dynamic application in multiple workspaces or enterprises. For details
on exporting a dynamic application to an XML file, see Exporting an Enterprise
Dynamic Application.
TO IMPORT An enterprise-level DYNAMIC APPLICATION
- On the Administration Home
page, under Applications, click Applications.
A list of all the enterprise applications displays.
- From the Actions
menu, click Import Dynamic
Application.
- Click Browse
to locate the XML file containing the dynamic application schema.
Important: If you import the application into the same enterprise from which it was exported, you can create a duplicate application with no easy way to distinguish between your original and your copy. This can cause confusion when administering the applications.
- Select the XML file to
import and click Import.
The dynamic application is imported.
- If necessary you can edit
the imported dynamic application.
Note: By default you need to edit the application to make it
visible as a global tab. See Editing
Dynamic Applications for more information.
TO IMPORT A Workspace DYNAMIC APPLICATION
- In a workspace you manage,
click Admin on the Workspace Menu.
- Click <workspace-type>
Dynamic Applications.
- Click Import Dynamic Application Schema.
- Select the appropriate option:
- Import Definition Only—This option imports the definition of the application without any existing data. Note: You cannot use this option if the application was exported with data..
- Import Definition And Data—This option imports both the definition and any application data that was included when the application was exported.
- Click Browse and navigate to the dynamic application XML file
If necessary you can edit
the imported dynamic application. See Editing
Dynamic Applications for more information.
