Creating a Dynamic Application - Calculations

 

The Calculations tab enables you to create calculations using two or more data fields that contain numeric values. The results of the calculation are displayed in the calculation field that was created in the Data Fields tab. An example of the calculation process is shown below.

to create a DYNAMIC APPLICATION - calculations TAB:

  1. Select the name of a calculation field from the Calculation Fields list. In the example above, Monthly Rent is the calculation field. If there are no field names in the Calculation Fields list, no calculation fields were added in the Data Fields tab.

    Note: Fields that appear in the Calculable Fields list are custom numeric fields of type Currency, Decimal, Integer or Percent.
  2. Click the first field in the calculation in the Calculable Fields list. This would be the Square Feet data field in the example above.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Use the calculator buttons to select the action to perform on the second field value. In the example, you would click the X button (multiply).
  5. Click the second field value in the calculation in the Calculable Fields list. This would be the Price per Sq Ft data field in the example above.
  6. Click Set Formula.
    The calculation is added to the name of the field in the Calculation Fields list.
