Sort Items
Click a column name to sort items by that field.
How sorting works:
- Default sort order
Each application has a default sort order:
- Tasks—The default Task sort is ascending, by # (task number). You cannot sort by # in descending order.
Note: Sorting by Outline is also only ascending and results in a sort identical to that when sorting by #.
- Dynamic applications—The default workspace Dynamic Application sort order is ascending, by item number.
- Changing sort order
Click on a column header to sort by that field.
- First click sorts ascending
- Second click sorts descending
Note: With Tasks, # and Outline only sort ascending
Application-specific cases:
- Tasks
- Status column
- Primary sort is on Status (Not Started, In Progress, On Hold, Over Due, Complete)
- Secondary sort is on % Complete
- Priority sorts ascending (Low, Normal, High)
- Hierarchical view (expandable parent-child relationships) are hidden when sorting by any column other than # or Outline
- Indenting is hidden and indent/outdent functionality disabled when sorting on any column other than # or Outline
- You cannot sort by Assignees, Related Items or Predecessors
