When creating a Queued view, your grouping and sorting options are limited. You cannot specify any Group By options for the view. The Sort By/Sort Order options specify an initial sort of the view.
A newly created queued view is sorted based on the Sort By/Sort Order options. Items in the view show a Rank value, but they are essentially unranked, with their order determined entirely by the Sort options. Once you change the ranking of any one item in the view, either by typing a new rank or by repositioning the item, all items in the view are ranked based on where they fall in the view, and the view can no longer be sorted. (Prior to ranking items, you can use column headers to change the sort of the view. Once you rank items in the view, the column headers no longer change the sort order.) At this point, the ordering of the queued view is determined entirely by item ranking.
The exception to this is when a new item added after the view is created. Any new items are added at the end of the list, based on the Sort order, and do not have an explicit ranking until an item in the list is reranked, at which point all existing items in the list are given their ranking based on position.
