About Personal Nonworking Time

Personal nonworking time is a calendar exception created by a resource manager or supervisor for an individual user and designed to adjust the number of hours they can work on tasks due to specific events or occurrences.

For example, if one of your team members will be out of the office for an afternoon you can add personal nonworking time for that person for that afternoon. Any subsequent tasks you assign to that team member are scheduled to reflect that nonworking time. Existing tasks impacted by the change in availability are adjusted. For details on how this happens, see About Schedule Adjustments.

Use the Team Manager application to create personal nonworking time and assign them to users you manage.

Note: Global nonworking time also displays in Team Manager. Global nonworking time is calendar exceptions created by an administrator and assigned to one or more workweek calendars.

Nonworking time (Global and Personal) impacts the task schedule for your project.

If nonworking time changes impact your schedule, you are notified and given the option to allow PPM to create a baseline and then adjust the schedule to take the nonworking time into account. You do not have to adjust the schedule, but any time you manually edit a task, any applicable nonworking time will be taken into account and the task adjusted. For details, see About Schedule Adjustments.
