About Dynamic Application Name Fields

The Name Field of a dynamic application provides a link to the item details. Clicking on the name field in a list of application items opens the item details.

In most PPM applications, the name field is the item name (the name of a document, for example), but this does not have to be the case with dynamic applications.

When you create a dynamic application, the first qualified field you create is assigned as the name field for the application. This means that by default the field is listed as the first field in application views. (It does not have to be listed first.)

The owner of a dynamic application (a PPM administrator for enterprise-level dynamic applications, a project manager for project-level applications) can change the name field of an application. For more information, see Changing Dynamic Application Name Fields.
