Keyboard Shortcuts (Numeric Fields)

 

Keyboard users can take advantage of keyboard support when working in the workspace-level Task List and Item List views.

Note: When you first open a List view, you need to tab into it or click a row in order to use keyboard shortcuts.

Entering Edit Mode

 

Note: Editable fields are automatically put into edit mode when using the Add or Update panes.

  • Select a cell (tab to it or click it with the mouse) and press Enter
    (You can also double-click with the mouse.)
   
Entering a Value
  • Type numbers using the keyboard
  • Paste valid input (copy and paste)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Acceptable input:
  • numbers
  • thousands separators - optional (In read-only mode, field displays as defined, whether or not separators are input.)
  • 1234
  • 1,234
  • negative indicators (any are valid)
  • -2
  • 2-
  • (2)

   
Deleting a Value
  • (in edit mode) press the Delete or Backspace key
   
Saving a Change

 

Note:

  • In the List, values in fields are saved when you leave the cell.
  • In the Add or Update pane, values in fields are saved on Save.
  • Enter, Tab, Shift+Tab or clicking in another cell in the list makes the change
   
Canceling a Change
  • Esc cancels any change that has not been saved
    Note: Canceling does not invoke required field validation.
   
Input Validation
  • Leaving a blank required field untouched (unedited) does not trigger required field validation.
  • Deleting an existing value in a required field generates a validation error.
  • Decimal fields: Values are not rounded. If too many decimal places are included, a validation error displays.
