Scheduling Reports with Prompts
|
Your ability to schedule reports is affected by whether or not a report includes prompts, and if so, what type of prompt it has. You can set default values for the prompts when the report is run. For details on setting default prompt values, see Scheduling a Report to Run Automatically.
You can schedule reports that have:
- No Prompts—
- Simple Prompts—Reports that contain simple prompts (Text Box, Value, Date, Date & Time,
Interval).
- Cascading
Prompts—
You cannot schedule reports that have:
- Select
& Search Prompts—Reports
with Select & Search prompts cannot
be scheduled.
If you are scheduling a report with prompts you can set
default values for the prompts. This can be done in two places:
- In
the report—The
report author can select a default prompt value to be used for a report.
This default value will be automatically selected when you run the report
and see the prompt.
Note: If default prompt values are set in the report, there
is no way to see them unless the report is run.
- On
the Report Options page—Anyone
who can edit a reports details can select default prompt values from the
Report Options tab in the report details window. This can be done to reduce
the amount of data returned by the report or to make the report specific
to a certain business area.
Note: If
default values are set in the report options page you will be able to
view the values from that page.
Note: For information
on configuring a non-recurring report run, see Report Details: Run With Options.
