Importing Workspaces: Default Field Values and Valid Entries

Field format requirements

Text fields are not case-sensitive.
Date formats in the import file must match the date format of the culture setting of the user importing the workspaces.
Currency formats in the import file must match the currency format of the culture setting of the user importing the workspaces.

Note: See "note" below for format requirements of multi-select pick lists.

Mappable Field Types

The following fields can be mapped during the import process. If a field is required the value must come from the import file so there is no default.

Planned Finish		1 month after Planned Start, unless workspace is "Ongoing"	Based on culture settings.	07/18/2007 or 30/04/2008.
Planned Start		Defaults to current date (date of import) unless Planned Finish is provided, in which case defaults to 1 month prior to Planned Finish.	Based on culture settings	07/18/2008 or 30/04/2008.

Note:Multi-select pick list fields with multiple values and pick lists that use the pre-defined Countries list have special formatting requirements for import.

If you import a multi-select pick list field with multiple values the data must be formatted in one of two ways:
- Comma-separated, enclosed in quotes—Selected values separated by commas , with the entire selection enclosed in quotes ("value 1, value 2").
- Comma-separated without spaces—Selected values separated by commas, with no space between values (value 1,value 2)
If you import values for a pick list using the pre-defined Countries list, the imported values must match the language used in your culture setting.
- For example, if your culture setting is italiano (Italia), the values you import must be in Italian.

Unmappable Fields and field Types

The following fields cannot be mapped during import. Default field values are automatically assigned.
