Your administrator can enable external billing for a workspace type and workspaces of that type can have billable tasks. A billable task will be billed externally and includes external rate fields for that external billing. A non-billable task is a task that will not be billed externally, and all external rate fields disabled for the task.
When you create a task in a workspace with external billing enabled, you can designate as billable or non-billable by setting the Billable option in the Task Add pane of the Task List or by selecting Billable in the Create Task window.
Note: This option is set to Yesby default in workspaces that have external billing enabled. In workspaces that do not have external billing enabled, the Billable option does not appear.
Available fields depend on whether or not the Billable option is set to Yes/selected. In a workspace with external billing enabled:
If a workspace has external billing enabled, a Billable column appears on timesheets that include tasks for that workspace. Whether or not a value appears in that column depends on the permissions of the timesheet owner. You must have the View Billing Rates permission in order to see billing rate values on the timesheet.
