Creating Milestone Tasks

A milestone is a task that identifies a significant point or event in the project schedule, such as the date that a number of tasks are due to start, or the date a workspace phase will finish.

Creating a Milestone Task:

You can create a milestone task in several different ways in PPM:

Task List—When you add a task in the Add Pane of the Task List, you can create a milestone task by specifying a Duration of 0 days. For more information, see Adding a Task in the Task List (Add Pane).
Gantt Chart—In the Gantt chart, create milestone tasks by adding a task with a Duration of 0 days. For more information, see Adding a Milestone Task in the Gantt Chart.
Create New Task Window—When you add a task using the Create New Task window, you can select the Milestone option to create a milestone task. Duration is set to 0 when you do this. For more information, see Adding a Task Using the Create New Task Window.
