Installing ProjectTransit

 

ProjectTransit is a Changepoint PPM utility that allows you to synchronize a Microsoft Project schedule with a PPM project task schedule. For more information, see ProjectTransit Overview.

PROJECTTRANSIT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Before installing ProjectTransit, verify that your computer meets the system requirements.

Note: ProjectTransit requires a connection to Changepoint PPM each time you synchronize. You can work in Microsoft® Project without internet access and then use ProjectTransit to synchronize schedules when you have access to PPM.

 

Installing or Upgrading to ProjectTransit 4.X

UNINSTALLING PROJECTTRANSIT 3.x:

If you are currently using ProjectTransit version 3.x, you will need to uninstall ProjectTransit before upgrading to version 4.X.

NOTE: Uninstalling ProjectTransit 3.x will not break your synchronizations.

  1. On the Windows Start Menu, click Settings, then Control Panel, and Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features).
  2. Make sure the Change or Remove Programs option is selected.
  3. From the list of programs, select ProjectTransit.
  4. Click the Remove button to begin uninstalling ProjectTranist.
  5. Follow the instructions on the ProjectTranist Uninstall Wizard.


Installing ProjectTransit either for the first time, or after uninstalling version 3.x:

  1. Download the ProjectTransit installer file to your local computer.
    For details on downloading the file, see Downloading Utilities.
  2. Browse to the ProjectTransit installer file on your computer.
  3. Double-click the installer file to start the installation.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install ProjectTransit on your computer

 

If the instillation of ProjectTransit does not successfully complete, or if it completes but ProjectTransit does not appear to be functioning properly, manually uninstall all instances of ProjectTransit and then reinstall the latest ProjectTransit version.
