ProjectTransit - Overview

ProjectTransit is a Daptiv desktop application that integrates with Microsoft® Project so project managers can synchronize a Microsoft Project schedule with a PPM Workspace task schedule.

This combination gives:

Run ProjectTransit from within Microsoft Project to synchronize schedules. For more information, see Using ProjectTransit Overview.

Schedule Checkout

When a PPM project schedule is linked to a Microsoft Project file using ProjectTransit, the schedule is automatically checked out in PPM. The schedule remains checked out until the synchronization between PPM and Microsoft Project is turned off ("broken").

See Overriding ProjectTransit Schedule Checkout for more information.

Schedule management and updating

While the schedule is checked out, PPM users can update tasks but cannot add, edit, or delete them in Daptiv. (Note: These activities are usually limited to a project manager whether or not the schedule is synchronized with ProjectTransit.)

The project manager manages the schedule from within Microsoft Project and uses ProjectTransit to update the PPM schedule to reflect any changes.

See Synchronizing Tasks with ProjectTransit for details.

Downloading and installing ProjectTransit

If your organization is licensed to use ProjectTransit, you can download the ProjectTransit installer from the Download Utilities link. Click on your user name in Daptiv to access the Download Utilities link. After you install ProjectTransit, a ProjectTransit menu appears on the Microsoft Project menu bar. See Installing ProjectTransit.

Note: If you see a message stating that you have insufficient permissions when trying to use ProjectTransit, contact Daptiv support. Your enterprise license key may have an error.
