Using ProjectTransit - Overview
|
Your workflow while using ProjectTransit depends on whether you are making the first synchronization or any subsequent synchronization.
- The first time you use ProjectTransit to synchronize a Microsoft Project schedule with a PPM schedule, you need to specify connection information and which project you want to synchronize, as well as team members. Finally, task data is synchronized in both schedules. For more information, see Using ProjectTransit - Initial Synchronization.
- Any subsequent time you use ProjectTransit to synchronize the schedules, the utility updates both schedules based on activity in both PPM and Project. For details, see Using ProjectTransit - Subsequent Synchronizations.
Important: While schedules are synchronized (linked), all calculations are managed by Microsoft Project. The PPM scheduling logic is not used.
