About Report Views |
Report views allow you to create "views" that are based on and associated with a particular "base report." You can think of a report view as a second version of the report, though you cannot modify the structure of the view. To make changes to a report view, you need to modify the base report. Changing a base report changes all views created from that report.
Running a report view shows the same output as the report would show, but you can:
You can create multiple views from a single base report and these remain associated with the report. You cannot change a report view using Query Studio or Report Studio, but any changes made to the base report are immediately inherited by the associated views.

When you run a report view, the base report runs using any parameters or schedule information specific to the view. If a base report does not exist, a report view cannot run and instead an error message displays.
Note: Report views cannot be added to the Dashboard Report Viewer.
