Report Details: Editing Details
|
With Write permission, you can edit details of a report and change the location.
To Edit Report Details:
- Navigate to the Edit Details
window.
- From the Report
List actions menu
select Edit
Details.
- From the Report
Details Window action menu select Edit
Details.
- You can edit the following
fields:
- Name—The name of
the report.
- Screen
Tip—Text
that appears when users hover over the report name in the report list.
- Enable Caching—Whether or not you can cache the output of a report. This is selected by default and exposes the Update Cache option on the Report Schedule and Run with Options tabs. Note: Enabling caching gives you the ability to cache the report output. It does not automatically save a cached version. To cache a report, you need to either run the report with options or schedule the report. For more information about caching, see About Report Caching.
- Location—This shows
the current location of the report. You can move (or copy) the report
to another location. Note: If you change the location of a folder for which you are not the owner, you create a copy of the folder in the new location rather than moving the original folder.
To move the report:
- Click Change location.
The location information expands. The current location is listed above
the folder names (if applicable).
- Select the
folder you want to move the report to. You can select Public
Folders, My Folders or
any folder within those areas.
Your permissions for the report impact what happens when
you "move" the report:
- If you are the owner, the report is moved to the
new location.
- If you are not the report owner, a copy of the report is
made in the new location. When a report copy is created by changing the
location, there is no link between the original report and the copy. Any
change to one has no impact on the other.
Important:
If you move a report to My Folders, no other user will be able to see
or access the report.
- Click
Save and Close.
- Description—A description
of the report.
