Viewing Tasks in the Gantt Chart
|
The Gantt chart provides a graphical overview of tasks in
the current project. You can use the Gantt chart to add, edit and delete
tasks, set up task dependencies, create summary tasks and milestones, and to
assign team members to tasks. The Gantt chart also includes a Task Grid that allows you to edit certain task details in-line.
Note: You must check the schedule
out in order to make changes in the Gantt chart. Your ability to check
the schedule out is limited in these situations:
- If the schedule has
been checked out by another project manager you can view tasks in the
Gantt chart but you cannot make any changes to the schedule. For more
information, see Checking
Out the Task Schedule for Editing.
- If the project has
been synchronized with a Microsoft Project file using ProjectTransit,
you cannot add, edit, or delete tasks in PPM. For more information
about ProjectTransit, see ProjectTransit
