Understanding the basic PPM navigation elements and how to use them help you have satisfying experience. PPM is designed to put the items you work with just one or two mouse clicks away. Once you are familiar with the navigation basics, you can easily move around and find what you need.
Always visible, the global tabs are the primary method for navigating within PPM. Each tab opens a global application, displaying the application items you need access to in order to do your job (issues, documents, appointments, etc.). Click on a tab to open a view of data specific to you and your workspaces.
The Dashboard is a special application that displays a variety of information from the other applications. In many other cases the global application data displays in a list view, and frequently you can create custom versions of these lists to match your individual needs. In special cases the data may display in other formats like a calendar, or the multiple panes of a dashboard. For more details about using the global tabs, see Using Global Tabs.
The Workspaces tab opens a special application that lists workspaces you are a member of. An enterprise user who is a member of multiple workspaces will see those workspaces listed on the Projects tab. Other users may only see one workspace. For more information about navigating in the Projects tab, see Projects Tab Overview.
The tab toolbar appears directly below the global tabs and displays commands and menus specific to the currently selected tab.
The options on the tab toolbar depend on the selected tab. For more information on the Tab Toolbar, see Tab Toolbar Overview.
The view toolbar appears at the top of the content area and displays commands and menus specific to the current view.
For more information, see View Toolbar Overview.
The content area occupies the main area of the screen and displays data for the current application. The content area format varies depending on what application is selected and whether any custom views have been defined. Views include list views, outline views, folder views, and dashboard views.
The Actions menu is accessed by clicking on the Actions icon. The Actions menu lists context-sensitive commands specific to individual items. See Actions Icon and Tab Overview for more information.
