Custom View Wizard - Filters
|
In the Filters step of the Custom View wizard, specify filters
you want to apply to the view. Filters limit the information included
in the view based on the parameters you define in this step of the wizard.
Note: You are not
required to define filters for the view.
TO define filters:
- Choose whether the view
will display items that meet all the conditions you define, or any one
of the conditions you define:
- If you want the
view to display only information that meets every condition you define,
select Show Items which meet ALL of the
filter conditions listed below.
- If you want the
view to display information that meets any single condition among those
you define, select Show Items which meet
ANY of the filter conditions listed below.
- For each filter you want
to define:
- Select a
field from the Select Data Field
list.
- Select an
operator for the filter from the Select
Operator list.
The operator list options depend on the kind of field you select as
your filter field. For details about filter operators, see About Custom View Filter Operators.
- Define the
parameter for the filter.
The way you define a parameter depends on what type of data field you
selected. You may need to type a value in the Define
Parameter box, or you may have to select a value from a list.
Note: If you filter on a field of type "assignee", you can select Logged in user as a parameter and the view will be filtered based on the currently logged in user. This allows you to easily create views that are customized by user (showing only items assigned to them). For more information, see Filtering on Logged In User.
- To define more than three
filters, click Add Criteria.
- Click Next
Step to continue, or Previous
Step to go back to the previous step.
Note: If you are editing an existing view, you can click Skip To and go to a specific step in
the wizard.
Next (users): Naming
and saving the view.
