Editing a Task

 

Project managers edit tasks to update details (planned start, planned finish or duration for example) and to add assignees. Normally it is project managers who are making edits to tasks. Note: Editing a task has implications. For details, see Impact of Editing Tasks (popup)

Other team members update tasks to indicate how much work they have done on an assigned task. For more information about how updating a task differs from editing a task, see Task Edit and Task Update.

Note: If a schedule is locked ( has been synchronized using ProjectTransit) or checked out, you cannot edit tasks in the schedule. For more information about ProjectTransit, see ProjectTransit Overview.
