Be aware of these limitations when using Search:
- Permissions—Search access is based on your permissions within your enterprise. If you do not have access to an item, a project, or an application, you cannot search those items.
- Workspaces—Only those workspaces of which you are a member are searched.
Workspaces you are not a member of are not included.
- Applications—Only applications to which you have access are searched.
Applications you do not have access to are not included. This includes both native and dynamic applications.
- Items—Only those application items to which you have access are searched.
Application items you do not have permission to view are not included.
For example, if you do not have permission to view a particular document, your search will not see that document.
- Archived Items—Archived items (workspaces and items within those workspaces) are not searched unless you select the Search only archived items option on the Search Results page.
For more information, see Searching Archived Items.
- Dates—Native Date/Time fields are not searched.
Note: Custom date fields are searched but are treated as strings, with the date/time given in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), based on Greenwich Mean Time.
Formatting for custom date fields is YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS.
Example: 12/7/09 8PM, Pacific Standard Time is 2009-12-08T04:00:00
- Fields—Not every field in your enterprise is searched. For details on exactly which fields are searched, see What Fields Are Searched.
- Results maximum—For all items except Documents, 50 is the maximum you can see. If the item you are searching for is not in the first 50 results, refine your search with additional terms to further limit the results. For Documents, the maximum is 100.
- Query maximum—Depending on the combination of number of search terms you use and the number of AND qualifiers, you may hit a query maximum. For more information, see Search Query Maximum.
- Other Limitations—Depending on search complexity and system load, a search can fail. If your search does not complete successfully the first time, wait a few minutes and try the search again. If the search continues to fail, contact Daptiv Support with as many details as possible about the search (including search terms and items being searched).
