Refining Your Search Results
|
You may find you want to change how you're searching, in order to control the results you get.
One reason you would need to do this is if your search resulted in the maximum displayable number of items for a (for example, Workspaces, Tasks, Documents). For most result types the maximum displayable number is 50. For Documents the maximum is 100. If you hit this maximum with a search, a message displays at the top of the Search Results page. See Search Results Display Maximums.
Refining your search to Changing the Results You Get
You can change the search results you get by:
- Searching a subset of data by type.
Searching a subset of data based on data type can reduce Search results and make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. You might do this if you know that you are looking for a particular type of item (a document for example, or a workspace). For details on using Search options for reducing the data by type, see Search Data Type Options.
- Changing Search terms you enter and how you enter them.
The terms you type in the Search box and how you enter them can have a large impact on the results you get.
Because all search result types except Documents return a maximum of 50 items, you may need to add terms to restrict the results you get. Note: Documents returns a maximum of 100 items. For information on how to use search terms effectively, see How Search Works.
